SIt will be Avellino-Brescia like last year. It will be the first match of the fifth Serie B championship of the wolves with a home debut between friendly walls, next August 26th.
Immediately after the first challenge with an ex: against Attilio Tesser who leads Cremonese. Then another new promise on the road to the black and greens, namely Foggia, and a new match in Cesena, then Inzaghi's Venezia, the away match in Novara, Empoli who returns to the Partenio Lombardi (on September 30), and Bari to San Nicola.
The adrenaline will however rise very high on October 14th, on the ninth day, with the derby against Salernitana scheduled at the Partenio Lombardi (the return match on March 10th). Immediately after another challenge that smells of history with Pescara, Pro Vercelli at home.
In the twelfth there is Parma at the Tardini, then Perugia, Entella and Frosinone. On November 25th, in the sixteenth Palermo returns to Irpinia, where Carpi will also appear the following Saturday.
The last days see Novellino's team busy in Cittadella, and with Ascoli. On December 24th there is Spezia - Avellino and on the 31st Avellino - Ternana. «I am very happy - underlines Novellino - to start in front of our fans and to meet an old friend like Boscaglia who leads a young and valuable team.
Immediately after there is the away match against Cremona who is a quality group, but we are not afraid and we want to win them all, or at least try. The derby with Salernitana comes at a good time, when we will already be more experienced.
Empoli and Palermo at home? I repeat, it doesn't matter much: all in all, the calendar is positive, but it will all depend on us.
The boys are very excited, they want to show that they can be the outsider of the season". Novellino does not agree that this year the B series is an A2. "There are many rookie coaches, several young people who have never faced such a long and tiring championship.
There are many unknowns and there will be no shortage of surprises". And then Taccone: "We will start the championship just like last year, home debut against Brescia.
Last season we drew undeservedly, we deserved more from that match, this time we will try to make up for it by starting on the right foot, trying to get the most out of it right away, with great respect for Brescia, as well as for all the opponents we will meet". And then, scrolling through the calendar: "It will then be a pleasure to meet the former Tesser again with his Cremonese and then host Foggia in a very heartfelt match.
An interesting start, we will immediately meet three newly promoted teams in the first five games of the tournament. Only apparently this aspect could play in our favor: we will face ambitious teams that will want to show off and do well in this beautiful and long adventure of the B championship".
And the rocks? «Finally, a crucial turning point is evident on the 16th and 17th matchday with the double confrontation, internal in the first round, against Palermo and Carpi, two great teams. We hope to do our best and to assert our qualities right from the start of a tournament that is undoubtedly very balanced and challenging in which there are no easy or impossible to win matches».
But beyond the calendar, the market is the hottest front. If the exits are not sorted out first, it will be difficult to unlock the entries.
William Jidayi remains with his suitcase packed, but the trail that leads to Casertana seems to have faded. Giocono Martorelli, the midfielder's agent, reiterated that the defender would like to hold on to Serie B.
In the last few hours, Walter Taccone has raised the bid for Leonardo Morosini, doubling his offer.
