Mario Coppeto, city councilor of Naples and group leader of “Napoli in Comune a Sinistra” intervenes on the events of the ANM: “What is happening with transport in the city of Naples?
What is certain is that citizens wait hours to take a bus and workers are anxious about their fate. In the meantime, negotiations continue, even at night, between the municipality and trade unions to try to save ANM, the most important transport company in the south.
While this difficult negotiation is underway, for which we are all working and expecting useful solutions for the city, the issue of insurance policies for the buses supplied to the ANM looms large on the scene.
Policies paid, it is written, at very high prices compared to the market. Who was supposed to control? Who had the task of promoting adequate savings given the state of health of the company?
Yet in recent years the municipal administration has put in place a participatory structure which among other things had and has the task of harmonizing the expenditure of transversal services for all municipal subsidiaries precisely in order to focus on "Savings" as a fundamental element for the relaunch of companies and above all of ANM which is certainly the one suffering the most.
Let's be clear! Workers are asking for it, who today have to pay the highest price of the crisis, citizens are asking for it, users who need more certainty for their travel, and finally, healthy politics is asking for it, the one that just can't stand such serious diseconomies".
