Two days of action and reflection organized by the Italian Left in Naples on Friday, October 6th and Saturday, October 7th, 2017, on the issues of good urban planning and land consumption.
"Courage, Beauty!! Our urban planning to change Italy" is the title of the initiative, which will also see the launch of a Manifesto of Intent and a national campaign that will involve all of Italy in the coming weeks. Nicola Fratoianni, National Secretary of the Italian Left, writes in the newsletter to members: "Next Friday from 4:30 to 8:00 PM will be "the day of action. In San Giovanni a Teduccio, we will meet in a neighborhood that needs regeneration. We will call on city councilors, city and municipal councilors, citizens' committees, environmental associations, parish groups, legality movements, teachers and students from local schools to clean the park together, to restore light and beauty. But not only that: we will also be able to discuss and debate the future of our neighborhoods. Saturday, October 7, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, will be "the day of thought," a meeting for discussion at the Institute of Studies Philosophical Conferences at Palazzo Serra di Cassano. Where we will discuss land use, the fight against illegal building, good urban planning, and projects for the urban regeneration of our country's suburbs. We will engage," Fratoianni concludes, "with mayors, local administrators, the national leaders of architects' and urban planners' associations, intellectuals, and national representatives of environmentalism and volunteerism."
