The Carabinieri of the Giugliano in Campania company arrested in Villaricca two spouses with no criminal record, Pasquale Sarnelli, 48 years old, and Francesca Mauriello, 40 years old (niece of Giovanni, a 58-year-old believed to be affiliated with the Camorra clan of the “Ferrara” operating in Villaricca and neighboring municipalities as well as cousin of the clan leader, currently detained). During a house search in their residence the Carabinieri found a bag that the spouses had thrown from the balcony when the military arrived. Inside there was a package containing 27 grams of cocaine and 5 ready-made doses, a precision scale and various packaging material, several notes and the sum of 170 euros in cash. In the house there was also a wall safe, which was found to contain 5.550 euros in cash.
A search was also carried out in an attic used by the couple. Inside these rooms, 9 packages of cocaine were discovered for a total of 1.033 grams, a precision scale, various packaging material and various notes. At the couple's home, ammunition, a 9mm semi-automatic and a 12mm hunting rifle legally held by the man were found and subjected to preventive administrative seizure. The arrested were taken to the prisons of Poggioreale and Pozzuoli.
