Arturo, the 17-year-old stabbed last December on Via Foria in Naples, spent his first day at home. Yesterday, after receiving a visit from the Archbishop of Naples, Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, he was discharged from Monaldi Hospital (where he had been transferred after an initial stay at San Giovanni Bosco Hospital). Arturo, attacked by four teenagers while he was out for a walk, may soon be able to return to school. His classmates never left him alone and took to the streets—with a march and a flash mob in front of the prefecture—to demand greater street surveillance. The march, attended by over 5000 people, effectively responded to the appeal launched by the 17-year-old's mother. During his stay at the two hospitals, Arturo also received visits from the mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, the police commissioner of Naples, Antonio De Iesu, and the provincial commander of the Carabinieri, Ubaldo del Monaco. Police arrested a 15-year-old for Arturo's wounding, while the other three alleged attackers have not yet been apprehended.

Under eight in total are the minors on whom the police have investigated so far to identify the perpetrators of the attack on Arturo P., the 17-year-old student of the “Cuoco-Campanella” high school who was seriously injured in via Foria on December 18th. Of them, four are about to leave the circle of suspects since the investigators have found nothing against them except a vague indication provided by a passerby that same evening. However, in the absence of evidence, the investigations have concluded with nothing: they are a 14-year-old, two 12-year-olds and a 13-year-old, the latter three of which are not chargeable due to age. They are part of a small group of friends who frequent the area and who do not know the other small group of very young people including the only suspect so far under arrest: F., a 15-year-old from San Carlo Arena, a student of “Casanova” with a fair amount of success and a passion for cinema as an actor. In fact, he participated in the film “La paranza dei bambini” scheduled for release in cinemas this year.

Only apparently does the investigation seem to be stalling. This is a patient process, which must take into account one important circumstance: the minors under scrutiny all live between the Sanità neighborhood and the area even closer to the scene of the attempted murder. Therefore, their presence in that area at the time of the crime may not mean anything. Meanwhile, the details of the surveillance footage, including the stills that led to the 15-year-old's arrest, are being scrutinized with increasing attention. There is an identikit of the four members of the gang, and there are images taken from footage from several surveillance cameras in the area. The videos show the group of young people walking together on Via Foria, and the timing would coincide with the first attempted attack, which failed because the victim managed to escape before being hunted down, and with the moments preceding the attack on Arturo and the subsequent escape.
