Four Albanian citizens, involved in home burglaries, have been arrested in the Caserta area: two already known to the police and two with no criminal record. The crimes contested, to varying degrees, are improper robbery and aggravated home burglary as well as resisting a public official, unjustified possession of altered keys or lock picks and damage. The Carabinieri of the Giugliano in Campania Company had monitored the four after noticing them in a suspicious attitude in the Giugliano area during territorial control operations. Last night, the quartet was surprised after committing a burglary in the home of a 44-year-old woman from San Tammaro. In an attempt to escape on board their car, the four also rammed an unmarked police car in reverse. All were stopped and searched and found in possession of burglary tools, torches, balaclavas, hats and gloves. One of the arrested, brandishing a screwdriver, also tried to attack one of the soldiers, but was disarmed. The search of the car led to the discovery of jewelry with a total value of about 10 thousand euros, while near the vehicle, three 12-gauge hunting rifles were recovered, resulting from a burglary at the expense of a 63-year-old from Curti (Caserta). It was ascertained that the four had also perpetrated another raid in the home of a 54-year-old from San Tammaro.
