All four of them, already charged with grievous bodily harm, have been identified. They are the members of the gang at the Chiaiano Metro station. They brutally attacked 15-year-old Gaetano di Melito, kicking him to the bone. They are youths from the Piscinola and Marianella neighborhoods. Some of the group are believed to be the sons of local criminals. The investigation was narrowed thanks to surveillance camera footage from the Chiaiano Metro station, a northern Naples neighborhood where the attack occurred, and from several businesses in the square. That's how they were identified. No assistance was forthcoming from witnesses who were certainly on site and saw something, because at that time—18,20:XNUMX PM—the area is very busy. In Chiaiano, in fact, all the buses arriving from the surrounding towns stop, carrying dozens and dozens of young people who then take the "hill" metro to the city center.

One of the identified boys, as reported by Il Roma, was identified and reported thanks to the courage of his mother, who brought him to the police station: "It's him, not the brother you brought here who had nothing to do with it." The woman admitted. "I saw my friends in trouble and I hit him," one of the boys detained reportedly replied to investigators, implying a violent argument was underway. However, the two youngsters, cousins of the injured boy who remained unharmed, reported an unprovoked attack. The victim was kicked and punched, and he was taken to the hospital with a ruptured spleen and underwent surgery. The two identified and arrested boys, picked up from their homes this morning and taken to the Chiaiano police station, spent three-quarters of the day under questioning by prosecutor Emilia Galante Sorrentino: a 14-year-old (brought by his mother) and a 15-year-old. They reportedly answered questions, and one of them spoke of a fight, claiming he intervened to defend his friends. The other members of the group of Neapolitan friends, most of them minors, have reportedly been identified, and they too could be charged, likely today. The case could therefore be considered resolved within 48 hours, thanks to the skill of the police officers from Chiaiano (Director Sergio Di Mauro) and Scampia (Director Bruno Mandato), who already had a clear idea of the incident by Friday evening, and the diligence of the magistrate. Meanwhile, the conditions of Gaetano, the 15-year-old from Melito admitted to the San Giuliano hospital in Giugliano.
