For 18 months, President De Luca has remained silent on the restoration of the road connecting Castellammare di Stabia to Monte Faito, a serious failure given the promises that have so far proven to be hot air." This is what Luigi Cirillo, regional councilor of the 5 Star Movement, said, continuing: "On September 14, 2016, we submitted a written question regarding the dangers arising from the state of degradation and abandonment of Via Quisisana near Monte Faito in light of the serious hydrogeological instability affecting the area, which has led to the closure of the only access from the city of Castellammare di Stabia to Faito. We asked for an account of the initiatives implemented to urge the competent authorities to arrange for road maintenance and the removal of illegally abandoned waste to allow free use of the road.

"The question primarily asked about interventions to mitigate hydrogeological risks," Cirillo specifies, "but to date there has been no response, despite the ongoing waste dumping and the landslide risk in the area." "In our government program, we have included measures to secure and reopen the road," announces Francesco Nappi, candidate for mayor of the Five Star Movement in Stabia. "As soon as we take office at Palazzo Farnese, this issue will be at the center of our agenda." "This artery has become a receptacle for all kinds of waste. The Region has every right to urge the Municipality of Castellammare," Cirillo concludes, "and initiate an institutional discussion to ensure the problems are resolved, while we wait for De Luca to break his silence and respond to our question."
