There's food for thought; Mattarella will be able to identify the best path forward. This was stated by Senate President Elisabetta Casellati, after meeting with the President of the Republic, to whom she reported on her consultations on the possibility of a government supported by the Five Star Movement and the center-right. President Sergio Mattarella has decided to take two days to reflect.
Meanwhile, Silvio Berlusconi once again slams the Five Star Movement ("They're a danger to Italy") and calls on the Democratic Party to form a "responsible" government. "He's dreaming," Rosato replies. "Rather than bring the Democratic Party back into government, I'll take three steps forward. I'm ready to do anything against a technocratic government controlled by Brussels," says Matteo Salvini. And, for the Five Star Movement, Toninelli cuts short: "No to just scraping by, better to vote."

"I thank all the leaders for initiating a discussion that, despite the diversity of opinions, has highlighted food for political reflection. I am confident that President Mattarella will be able to identify the best path forward," said Senate President Elisabetta Alberti Casellati at the end of her meeting with President Sergio Mattarella. "In recent days, I have carried out the task entrusted to me with dedication," she added, "striving to foster constructive dialogue among the political forces capable of verifying the parliamentary majority within the boundaries Mattarella has identified."
"First of all, I thanked Mattarella for the trust he has placed in me and for the unfailing support he has provided me over the past few days," President Casellati continued.
