He ran a child prostitution ring using a historic club as a front for generations of students from Avellino and beyond. Federico Di Vito will serve ten years and four months in prison and pay a €70 fine. Mario Luciano, an 86-year-old wealthy businessman from Lapio, was also convicted. He was a regular customer of the club on Via Vasto, in the center of Avellino, where, next to the games room and bar, Di Vito had set up a bedroom for meetings with young female students. The elderly man obtained a suspended two-year prison sentence. The third defendant, Pino Rosiello, 51, had already pleaded guilty to a two-year prison sentence. The investigation dates back to last year and continued for months with wiretaps, but also with the cooperation of the young victims and, in one case, the boyfriend of a young girl. According to the findings, the students were lured with the promise of a job at the club. From that moment, the club owner began a "training" program, instructing the girls on how to treat customers. For some, the pay could reach up to €1500 a month. The summary trial concluded after a three-hour deliberation.
