Battipaglia. Intimidation and extortion: Nicola Saturno, a 27-year-old from Battipaglia, has been convicted and arrested. Investigators believe him to be close to the De Feo clan. The convicted felon faces a three-year prison sentence and a €3,000 fine for conspiracy to commit attempted extortion, aggravated by conspiracy. Saturno was arrested by Carabinieri officers from the Battipaglia Company, led by Major Erich Fasolino, for the incident that occurred in Battipaglia on July 12, 2014.
That day the Carabinieri placed the young man under judicial police custody, having gathered clear evidence of guilt against him in relation to the attempt to extort, first with anonymous telephone requests, then with a bottle containing flammable liquid left in front of the entrance shutter, 5 thousand euros, which according to the applicant were intended for prisoners, from the manager of the Igiene e Bellezza store.
Following the final judgment of conviction, Nicola Saturno, who was at liberty, was transferred to Fuorni prison.
