This year, the now traditional Vesi pizzeria event returns to Pizza Village with a special creation entirely and exclusively dedicated to the event, which will take place from June 1st to 10th in the splendid setting of Lungomare Caracciolo.
Salvatore Vesi will be present at the stand and present the new creation. And as is tradition, the tribute is always dedicated to one of the excellences of our region. And in fact, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of what can be defined as the anthem of Naples, the 2018 Vesi pizza will be dedicated to the song "'O sole mio". The first publication dates back to 1898 and since then the song has been sung, translated, and reinterpreted in almost every existing language. Among others, it has been sung by Domenico Modugno, Enrico Caruso, Fernando De Lucia, Josephine Baker, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Claudio Villa, Mina, Brian Adams, Massimo Ranieri, Il Volo, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo,
Boy George, Andrea Bocelli, Tony Bannett. In Ischia it was also sung briefly by Pope Woytila, visiting the green island. And also by astronaut Gagarin, the first man to travel in space. And the homage of Salvatore Vesi and the pizzerias could only be, on such an important occasion, addressed to one of the Campanian primates. Naturally also with one of its most extraordinary interpreters: Enrico Caruso, who contributed greatly to making it an international success. Salvatore Vesi's creativity, therefore, was inspired by the sun, by beauty, by absolute goodness. And so the ingredients of the pizza " 'O sole mio" make it truly succulent. Yellow cherry tomatoes from Vesuvius, buffalo mozzarella from Aversa, provolone del monaco, buffalo ricotta flakes and a touch of internationality: semi-spicy paprika. To complete it all, extra virgin olive oil from Puglia and basil. A true hymn to taste like the song to which it is dedicated.
