Ten thousand square meters of indoor and outdoor exhibition space, featuring over 200 exhibitors showcasing the finest in Italian craftsmanship in furniture, design, and everything related to the home. "Fiera della Casa 2018" is all this, but also a vast array of entertainment that will take over the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples from June 29th to July 8th. Free to enter, the 61st edition of the Fiera della Casa also features open-air cinema within the exhibition grounds. A 400-seat cinema has been set up near the Fontana dell'Esedra, showcasing a rich program of films: nearly 90 are scheduled over the ten days, all free. The square in front of the Teatro Mediterraneo will host a contemporary dance festival curated by Arabesque, while every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, visitors can witness the magic of the Fontana dell'Esedra, with its mechanism that explodes with light, water, and sound in an unforgettable and unprecedented spectacle. There will also be a touch of transgression with the "Momento Piccante," a burlesque show by Neapolitan artist Amira Rose, and Pavilion 1 will host a contemporary art exhibition by Domenico Sepe. For children, there will be the national Ludobus gathering, as well as the fascinating discovery of the animal world in the Zoomiguana space, which will offer workshops for little ones and the chance to admire exotic animals. Among the new features is the arrival at the Fair of the Health Campus, the prevention project that Professor Annamaria Colao has been developing for years, with stops throughout Italy offering free specialist visits. At the Mostra d'Oltremare, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons, the Kids Campus will be held, with specialists available for free visits to children and adolescents.
“The Home Fair is in the memories of many past generations,” explained Donatella Chiodo, president of Mostra d'Oltremare, “but not of new ones. This is the reason that pushed us to imagine different activities for young people and the very young, so as to be able to build new memories and a new sense of belonging both to this wonderful space that is the Mostra d'Oltremare, and to the Home Fair, the oldest event in the city of Naples.” The Home Fair remains faithful to its origins as a large furniture fair: the most famous Italian brands have invaded the pavilions to set up the largest offering in the South for the sector, with fair prices and the possibility of being accompanied in their choices by young architects and designers. This year, the Home Fair, thanks to the collaboration with the Order of Chartered Accountants of Naples, is also offering visitors free information on how to access the tax breaks for the sector provided for by the latest budget law. “In Naples and Campania – explained Giuseppe Oliviero, delegated councilor of Mostra d'Oltremare – the vocation for craftsmanship remains very strong, guaranteeing the quality of a sector that in Campania has over 3 thousand companies, with 9.750 employees. For this reason, for 61 years Fiera della Casa has promoted the concept of entertainment for the public but also the possibility of showcasing our excellence in the furniture, design and home accessories sector”. In the large spaces of Fiera della Casa, visitors will also find the Coldiretti market with typical Campania products, the Pizzachef space curated by the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani and the dog registry curated by ASL Napoli 1 which will microchip pets. The Campania Region will also be present with a stand set up by the Tourism Department.
