Tomorrow, at 5:00 PM, the presentation of the "National Committee for the Celebrations of Carlo Pisacane, on the Bicentenary of his Birth" will take place at the Ferrari Cinema Theatre in Sapri (Salerno). It is an event that does not simply want to commemorate an anniversary. In fact, the "various interpretations and uses" of Carlo Pisacane's political thought, of his "emotional world" and of his "political conscience" - as the Scientific Committee of this National Committee has had the opportunity to point out - raise the need for a new working hypothesis that can make use, among others, of the critical evaluations of the late Masters, Luciano Russi and Leonardo La Puma, great scholars of Carlo Pisacane and the Sapri affair. A line of studies that has found development in the recent volume by Leone Melillo, Il pensiero politico di Carlo Pisacane tra nazionalesmo, fascismo ed antifascismo, preface by Francesco Bonini, Salvatore Insenga Editore, Palermo 2017. A book, also presented in Sapri in April 2018, which inspired the establishment of this National Committee, also indicating the research theme proposed to the Historical-Scientific Committee for Anniversaries of National Interest, at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. As Prof. pointed out, Francesco Bonini (Rector of the Lumsa University of Rome) with the preface to this volume, “the point of view of the so-called “minors” counts. And it is considered. Here then is Pisacane a relevant object of study not only "in itself", but also in its use, just as happens [?] for Mazzini, Garibaldi and the other "factors" of the Risorgimento and, even more so, for the Risorgimento itself". The national event, also supported by the Municipality of Sapri, one of the promoters of the Committee, was conceived by Prof. Leone Melillo of the University of NAPLES “Parthenope”, who is also the President of the Scientific Committee of the “National Committee for the celebrations of Carlo Pisacane, on the bicentenary of his birth”. After the presentation of the event, which will be discussed by Dr. Antonio Gentile (Mayor of the City of Sapri), Prof. Alberto Carotenuto (Rector of the University of NAPLES “Parthenope)” and Prof. Leone Melillo (University of NAPLES “Parthenope”), the greetings of Dr. Raffaele Cantone (President of the National Anti-Corruption Authority), who received the 2017 International Award “Carlo Pisacane”, Antonio De Luca (Bishop of Teggiano-Policastro), Senator Francesco Urraro (Justice Commission of the Senate of the Republic), Tommaso Pellegrino (President of the Cilento, Vallo Diano and Alburni National Park Authority) and Corrado Matera (Councillor for Development and Promotion of Tourism of the Campania Region). Subsequently, at 18.30 pm, after the speeches of the members of the "National Committee for the celebrations of Carlo Pisacane, on the bicentenary of his birth", the speech given by Alfredo De Marsico in Sapri on 24/11/1934, on the occasion of the installation of the stele commemorating the landing, will be repeated. A theme that focuses on “Carlo Pisacane and the “rights of freedom”, in the bicentenary of his birth”, with interventions by Prof. Francesco Lucrezi (University of Salerno and Director of the scientific journal “Iura and Legal Systems”), Franco Maldonato (President of the cultural association “Oltre Pisacane”) and Cesare Pifano (Director of the Carlo Pisacane Study and Documentation Center), who will conclude the proceedings.
