Second edition of “Moviemmece”, the film festival dedicated to food as a vehicle for knowledge and intercultural exchange, a tool for safeguarding and enhancing territories and cultures. The festival will be held at Nest (Napoli Est Teatro) from 19 to 28 October and is promoted by the associations “Fuori dal seminato” and “Gioco immagine & parole” and the social cooperative “Mandacaru'”, in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, with the support of Mibact and Siae, as part of the initiative “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura” and with the patronage of the municipality of Naples.
The initiative is aimed at all directors with Italian nationality and no older than 35 years of age who can present, until July 31, a short film on the theme of food as a vehicle for intercultural exchange and investigation of social, environmental, cultural, ecological and civil issues. Fiction, animation or documentary works with a maximum duration of 30 minutes, including opening and closing credits, are eligible for nomination.
The festival, like last year, will be accompanied by a series of collateral activities, including film club activities for local schools and a two-day training workshop for students who will be included in the Festival's school jury, a photography competition open to young photographers under 35 and a free masterclass with limited places for film students, who will be able to access a weekend of intensive training in film vision criticism. For young scholars and film enthusiasts, under 35, there is also the opportunity to join the "young expert jury" for viewing, voting and awarding the short films in competition.
