Late yesterday evening, two patrols of the Green Berets of the Aversa Group entered a logistics hub in the Aversa countryside, proceeding with the external inspection of some packages stored in the yard of a shipping company wrapped in cellophane film, waiting to be shipped to England: a truly unusual sale given the incidence of high transport costs for goods of such little commercial value. The subsequent checks allowed them to find in 5 pallets, containing used clothing that constituted the only external part of the load, over 3.000 cartons of “Regina” brand cigarettes for a total of approximately 600 kilograms. An illicit load that in the United Kingdom would have allowed the criminal organization to obtain considerable profits, much higher than local sales, given the decidedly higher prices practiced on the legal cigarette market in that country.
