Giuseppe Duilio, known as "Bicicletta," a convicted felon and believed to be a member of the Casalesi Camorra cartel, has been sentenced to 8 years, 11 months, and 15 days in prison. Charged with mafia association, this morning the State Police executed the arrest warrant issued on June 20 by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office. Duilio, 60, believed to be affiliated with the Mazzara faction operating in the Cesa area, had already been arrested on March 1, 2017, for the same crime. On that occasion, the Carabinieri of the Aversa Territorial Unit executed a precautionary detention order issued by the Naples Court of Appeal against Amedeo Mazzara 'o Siciliano' and Duilio, both from Cesa, with multiple criminal records, and Tammaro Scarano, known as 'Scarulella', a resident of Aversa and previously under house arrest. The investigation, which began in 2007, led, thanks in part to wiretaps and reconstructions by collaborators of justice, to convictions in the first and second instance against the members of the criminal organization. It was established in the trial that the 'Mazzara group', leveraging the intimidating power of their membership and the population's subjugation and silence, had over time directly acquired control of the economic activities in the construction sector and control of the Cesa area. The clan also allegedly planned and committed crimes against individuals and property, including murder, kidnapping, extortion, and threats. Duilio is currently in prison in Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
