The Naples Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA) has closed its investigation and requested and obtained the indictment of Luigi Vicorito and Luigi Giuliano O'Rre, a former powerful Forcella boss who has been a collaborator with the justice system for years. The two are accused of killing and throwing into the sea 34 years ago Salvatore Ferraiuolo, a trusted man of the Forcella boss and considered a law enforcement informant. Luigi Giuliano, who has confessed, has requested a fast-track trial. Luigi Vicorito, currently free, has chosen the ordinary trial and will face prison if convicted.
There are two motives for this Cold Case. The first, as reconstructed by Il Roma, is that Salvatore Ferraiuolo, who was often at the Giulianos' house because he was considered a trusted man of the gang, was caught rummaging through the room of Carmela Marzano, Luigi's wife. Some collaborators of justice have reported this motive but in reality there was something else behind it. Ferraiuolo had been accused of a crime for which those accused in the Camorra can hardly escape: being a snitch. Luigi Giuliano began to investigate what his affiliate was doing and eventually became convinced that the time had come to kill him. This is the harsh truth written down in black and white for the crime committed against the boy, who at the time was just 20 years old, but was already part of the system. Ferraiuolo was killed because of suspicion and for having rummaged through a bag containing 80 million old lire in the house of the boss who at the time ruled Naples and who decided the life and death of anyone. Although for this crime, apart from accusing himself, he also accused all the other members of the Cupola who at the time had formed the New Family, that is, the criminal system that had opposed Raffaele Cutolo's NCO who in the XNUMXs wanted to take over all of Campania.
