During the 2018 Ischia Film Festival, Carlo Verdone will receive the Epomeo Award.
The sixteenth edition of the festival directed by Michelangelo Messina and Boris Sollazzo is underway and will be held from June 30 to July 7 in the Aragonese Castle on the island. This year's edition features 113 works, 33 previews (among others, Gringo with Charlize Theron and the crazy comedy Me, God and Bin Laden with Nicolas Cage, plus a special evening with the eight female robbers from Ocean's 8), 78 meetings and 30 countries present, from Nepal to Burkina Faso, plus the best of Italian cinema from the last year in the Best of section, with a prize awarded by the public. Present this year are the Oscar winner Gabriele Salvatores; Gabriele Muccino, who returns to the island a year after the set of "A Casa Tutti Bene" and Carlo Verdone, for the 40th anniversary of his TV debut. The Ischia Film Festival, under the High Patronage of the European Parliament, is organized by the Art Movie & Music Association with the contribution of the General Directorate of Cinema, the Campania Region and the Luce – Cinecittà Institute.
