The Summer of Love is ready to make the Dum Dum Republic vibrate over a long weekend to celebrate the Festa della Musica. Three days of live shows that will animate the arena that rises above the sea, culminating on Sunday in a refined set at sunset. The protagonist of the console, on June 24th starting at 17 pm, will be TY1, scratch & mix innovator originally from Salerno, in an event that has now become a cult of the summer season of the most prestigious beach club on the Cilento coast. The creative genius of TY1, in a sound crossover between scratch, hip hop, clubbing experience and spiritual house, will also alternate at the console with AÜRA with her sound that overwhelms the most exclusive clubs, and Gianni Romano, DJ and producer creator of the musical concept of the “Switch Party”.
Recognized for his talent throughout Italy and abroad, TY1 is the most famous and talented DJ on the Italian hip hop scene, of which he has been a protagonist for about 25 years, starting from his first debut at the age of just 13, equipped with an inspiration that, with a live scratch base with a simple turntable, allows him to blend electrofunk, hip hop, trap, tech house, black music, beats, scratch and mush up, up to classic pop pieces, in an authentic flow with the public, always innovative, without ever repeating himself.
“For Dum Dum Republic I always try to create something unique, designed exclusively for the beach club audience. It's the most beautiful aspect and the one that fascinates me the most – explains TY1 – Playing things that I don't usually play around: house with Afro influences, funk, but always in my style, in line with that black influence in house-dance music that distinguishes me”.
A live without filters, without barriers between the hills and the dance floor, in a spatial and emotional continuity that transforms into a collective artistic extemporaneous, opening towards the sea at sunset that acts as a backdrop. No borders, no closures, because Dum Dum is an open, free port.
“This lack of filters is beautiful. I can't wait to play every year. At Dum Dum there is a beautiful “vibra” – insists the artist – I play at home, I'm from Salerno even if I rarely play in my city. Dum Dum Republic remains my essential Salerno date of my summer tour. Among other things, I will play with the Switch project: together we will try to create harmony, continuity in a musical journey. I love house, even if now I am more focused on hip hop, of which I have been one of the precursors for 25 years, starting just at 13 years old in 1993. At Paestum I can let off steam, I can play for a heterogeneous audience. Long live Dum Dum”.
Already in preparation for his new solo album, TY1 is ranging between different genres and collaborations. His latest remix of Capo Plaza “Giovane Fuoriclasse” has recorded over a million streams on Spotify in just a few weeks. On June 22nd his production of “Business Class”, one of the two new singles by Marracash, will be released, while on June 29th the official remix of “Paracetamolo” by the singer-songwriter Calcutta will be released.
In 1997 he was crowned Italian DJing champion (winning the first ITF), passing through Alien Army, from collaborations with the best Italian hip hop artists such as Marrachash and Clementino, up to his latest solo LP, “Hardship” (2016 – Universal Music Italia), a work in which he experiments with electro-pop sounds of a more international scope (such as the collaboration with artists of the caliber of Eamon and Sirah). In the last period he has produced some new hits with Clementino and IZI and the remix of “Giovane Fuoriclasse” by Capo Plaza. TY1’s DJ Set ranges across various musical horizons intertwined in a unique and unmistakable way, linked by his mastery in the use of the turntable, with the result of inflaming all types of dance floors, from clubs, to festivals to squares.
The performing act of Aüra, resident DJ at the Switch Party at Joia in Naples, will embrace different styles, from techouse to tribal house to minimal music. Her first album “Goodnight Moon”, on the SwitchLab Italia label, is a true jewel of the deep house genre, enriched by the DJ’s inebriating groove.
MHE is the enigmatic musical project behind which lies the Neapolitan DJ and producer Gianni Romano, already known for his collaboration with Daddy's Groove. MHE is a declaration of intent, the affirmation of one's sense of identity: “I'm MHE. MHE, is myself, MHE is mine, MHE is what made this project come to life”, says Gianni Romano.
An idea born in 2015, with great ambitions and already known in the most famous clubs on the world scene. MHE moves outside of the box and conventions, with the intent of exploring new territories, breaking down limits and common beliefs. After turning the heads of console stars such as David Guetta, Alesso, The Avener, Benny Benassi, Nervo and Pete Tong, and having climbed the iTunes, Shazam and Spotify charts in half of Europe with the debut single 'The Thrill Is Gone', MHE is back with the new single, The Sounds Of Silence, a brilliant remake of the Simon & Garfunkel classic. After being included in the playlists of Afrojack, Axwell, Bob Sinclar, EDX, Kaskade, Lost Frequencies, Moguai, Nora En Pure, Sam Feldt, Sander Van Doorn, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki, Tiesto and Watermat, the album sparked an international auction among major labels at the last Amsterdam Dance Event, and is now finally ready to conquer the radio too.
