“A spasso con la storia” returns to Aversa, after the tenth edition in 2015. The traveling theater format, created by Giovanni Granatina, Enzo Maiorca, Gina Oliva, is on stage from Friday 29 June to Sunday 1 July, from 19.30:22.30 pm to XNUMX:XNUMX pm in the Monumental Complex of San Francesco, in the historic center of Aversa.
About eighty student actors of the Nostos Teatro, including adolescents and adults, for a professional experience in all respects, will be engaged in a suggestive journey both for the staging and for its historical-artistic beauty. For this eleventh edition of “A walk with history”, the chosen text is “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare. The public will be welcomed in groups of about 50 people, several performances are planned per evening.
The first edition of “A spasso con la storia” took place in the streets of the city of Aversa in 2006, since then nine more have followed, up to this one in 2018. Among the locations of the show, over time, the historic center of the city of Aversa, the Monumental Complex of San Francesco and the former Cirio La Balzana factory in Santa Maria La Fossa.
“Our A Midsummer Night’s Dream is very faithful to the original text. It is not an adaptation, but a shortened and itinerant version. The main study was carried out on the relationships, already present in the text, between the characters, played by the student actors of the Nostos Teatro, transformed by us into physical attitudes”, say Gina Oliva, Giovanni Granatina and Dimitri Tetta, artistic directors and teachers of the Nostos Teatro, who curated the show. “The work on the characters tends towards the delicacy and dimension of the dream, far from the sexual reading of the text that some prefer. A modern fairy tale, as Harold Bloom underlines, who, in the introduction to the Rizzoli edition of Dream, writes – in a better age than ours, A Midsummer Night’s Dream will reassert itself -“.
In recent years, Nostos Teatro has become a point of reference in the province of Caserta for theatrical training. In five years, the artistic direction of the space has created a theater school with numerous students, from 6 years old to adulthood.
