Press conference at the Campania Regional Council for Neapolitan song: "Today is a beautiful day because, with the discussion of the motion proposed by "Sud Protagonista" and presented by Forza Italia, with the hope that it will be supported by the entire council, we are moving toward the revitalization of theater and classical Neapolitan song, a cultural sector that will also be further revitalized through a new edition of the Neapolitan Song Festival," explained Armando Cesaro, president of the Forza Italia regional group, in the presence of Salvatore Ronghi, federal secretary of "Sud Protagonista."
“Together with the discussion on the Motion, the Promotion Committee for the recognition of the theater and classical Neapolitan song as intangible heritage of UNESCO is born today,” announced Ronghi, who explained: “for years we have been fighting with our association “Note di Napoli” for the valorization of the classical Neapolitan song, which is a great cultural heritage of Naples and of the whole world. The Committee, which will be presented on Thursday at 11.00:XNUMX at the Gran Caffe' Gambrinus, will include authoritative representatives of the world of culture, information and business of the city of Naples, who intend to commit themselves to achieving this important goal for our city. We have deemed it appropriate not to include the world of art and entertainment in the Steering Committee so that it is, unanimously, in support of this important project. We trust in the Campania Region to offer its support to this initiative and in all those who love Naples.”
“With this important motion we wanted to take the first important step to relaunch the theater and the classical Neapolitan song, which, although known and loved throughout the world, are not duly valued – underlined Cesaro – , for this reason we have embraced the initiative of “Sud Protagonista” and we intend to continue together this important path that could be a harbinger of important opportunities for our city and for our Region. We trust that the Regional Council will support the initiative of the Committee for the recognition of the theater and the classical Neapolitan song as UNESCO heritage”.
