The Presidency of the Council of Ministers grants patronage and the State logo to the 2018 edition of the “Penisola Sorrentina Arturo Esposito” cultural award because it is considered “of national and international importance”.
Following an intense investigation that lasted for several months, the “Penisola Sorrentina Arturo Esposito” award, scheduled for next autumn in Piano di Sorrento, has thus received two very important recognitions from the Italian Government.
The Office of Ceremonies and Honours and the Department of Information and Publishing of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers have granted patronage and use of the State logo for the important cultural event, now in its 23rd edition and hosted in the list of events of national importance in the Campania Region.
The main event is held every year in Piano di Sorrento with intermediate stops also in Milan, Rome and San Fele (in Basilicata), towards the appointment of Matera 2019.
The logo of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which the “Penisola Sorrentina” Award will be able to boast this year, is a true symbol of belonging, not simply a signature but an icon full of communication content.
It is composed of the star, the essential emblem of the Republic (officially adopted seventy years ago, on 5 May 1948) surrounded by the words “Palazzo Chigi – Presidency of the Council of Ministers”.
The assembly of the two components creates a clear sign, proud but sober, full of history but also contemporary in form, a symbol of a country proud of its roots and projected into the future.
The State logo is granted exclusively for national or international initiatives of the highest cultural, social, scientific, artistic, historical, sporting importance, mostly promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers or by the competent Ministries.
The patron Mario Esposito expresses genuine satisfaction for the national importance achieved by the Award, now institutionally recognized. The list of winners of the Penisola Sorrentina Award includes illustrious names in culture and entertainment, including the President Emeritus of the Republic Francesco Cossiga, the writer and director Walter Veltroni, the President of the Liguria Region Toti, the actors Giancarlo Giannini, Luca Barbareschi, Leo Gullotta, Lino Banfi, Lino Guanciale, Francesca Cavallin, the television presenters Pippo Baudo and Giancarlo Magalli and the Oscar winners Nicola Piovani and Fred Murray Abraham.
Among the territories that will host the itinerant initiatives of the Award and the cultural exchanges of the 2018 edition there will be Milan, Rome and San Fele in Basilicata, towards the appointment with Matera 2019, European Capital of Culture.
