Like Brazil yesterday, Germany's victory came deep into injury time, and most importantly, their path to Russia 2018 was not jeopardized. Against Sweden, the reigning world champions won 2-1 with a stoppage-time goal from Kroos, who was playing with ten men after Boateng was sent off. It was a crucial goal that dispelled any nightmares and allowed Loew's team to look forward to the rest of the tournament with optimism after losing their opening match against Mexico. Sweden took the lead in the 32nd minute of the first half: Claesson's cross found Toivonen, who chested the ball in and lobbed it past Rudiger with his right foot, beating Neuer. Germany equalized in the third minute of the second half: Werner's cross from the left into the center of the penalty area was met by Gomez, who grazed the ball on the counterattack, allowing the onrushing Reus to beat Olsen. The equalizer was of little use, and Germany looked for a victory that came in the 50th minute of the second half: Kroos curled a free kick from the left past Olsen with a right-footed strike. It was all easy for Belgium, who beat Tunisia 5-2 in their second Group G match of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The match was already over in the first half, which ended 3-1 with Eden Hazard's penalty and Lukaku's brace (four goals each, bringing Cristiano Ronaldo level at the top of the scoring charts). Bronn scored for the North Africans. The Red Devils continued their dominance in the second half, scoring twice more, early through Eden Hazard and late through substitute Batshuayi. Khazri also scored in stoppage time. Belgium are close to qualifying for the round of 16, while Tunisia are on the brink of elimination. After Germany, Mexico also defeated South Korea. Without too many problems, Ochoa and his teammates took home the three points with a resounding 2-1 victory. Vela opened the scoring with a penalty, while Hernandez finished. Son scored the consolation goal with a stunning finish. In the middle, Mexico confirmed the positive impression they had already made in their debut against the world champions, with Lozano also putting in a good performance.
