Naples. It was a turbulent night on Viale delle Metamorfosi in San Giovanni a Teduccio, where a patrol of police officers from the General Prevention Office saved a young man with mental illness from committing suicide. It happened in Lot P of the public housing complex on Viale delle Metamorfosi. The police had been alerted that a young man was threatening to jump from a sixth-floor window of the building at number 252. The young man, wearing only shorts, was already on the broomstick and ready to jump. At the sight of the police, he began screaming, claiming he was going to jump. The officers then managed to locate a sister-in-law who had the house keys. However, the young man was ready to jump, and the officers, waiting for the firefighters to arrive, decided to intervene by entering the house without making any suspicious noises. However, the young man noticed their presence and made a move to jump. A courageous inspector grabbed him by the shoulder, but the young man continued to struggle, and only the arrival of the other two officers from the crew prevented further damage, saving the boy and the inspector. The young man, who was intoxicated, is known in the neighborhood for his mental health issues. After being given a sedative, he was hospitalized.
