Naples. An attack, if not a massacre, was foiled by police yesterday afternoon in Troise Park in the Pazzigno neighborhood. A potentially devastating explosive device that could have caused a massacre. Thanks to a confidential source, officers from the Police Headquarters' Unit (UPG) on duty in Patrol Car 8 learned yesterday afternoon that in the derelict Troise Park, a place usually frequented by drug addicts in the area, someone with ties to the local Camorra clans had hidden something "interesting." Arriving on Via Pazzigno, the officers first combed the green spaces, then the brick buildings. And it was precisely from one of the farmhouses, specifically from the cavity of a room, that a cylindrical device with a combustive fuse was found. The bomb was then detonated in a quarry in the province of Caserta. Investigators believe the device was used in recent days as part of the long-running Camorra feud that has pitted the Rinaldis of the Villa neighborhood against the Reales of the Pazzigno neighborhood against the Mazzarella-D'Amicos of Via Nuova Villa in San Giovanni a Teduccio. The recent escalation of attacks indicates a sharpening conflict between the Camorra families. Investigators are now trying to identify the "owners" of the bomb and, more importantly, who it was aimed at.
