There's even a clan-controlled "ZTL" in Naples. The Carabinieri discovered it today in the Miano neighborhood, uncovering a veritable Camorra arsenal hidden in a car parked among others on the street. In a video released by the police, the words "ZTL Lo Russo" appear on a wall, referring to the dominant clan in that area, the Lo Russos, to whom the weapons—Kalashnikovs and submachine guns—found in the apparently abandoned car likely belong. These graffiti demonstrate the strong presence of the Lo Russos in the Miano neighborhood and at Don Guanella, despite the numerous arrests in the last two years, which have effectively eliminated the clan's top brass and the repentance of nearly all the "Capitoni" brothers. But that presence has also been overshadowed in recent months by the rise of the Nappello clan, loyalists to the Lo Russos, and the Stabile-Ferrara clan of Chiaiano. And it's no coincidence that other anti-Lo Russo graffiti have appeared on the walls of the neighborhood and even in Secondigliano, such as "Repentant Cuckolds," "Repent for Life," and even "Anti-32," given that in Neapolitan smorfia, the number 32 corresponds to a capitone (literally, "eel"). Now, in light of today's discovery, investigators are trying to identify the possible "owners" of those weapons. The concern is that the veterans of the "Capitoni," after a period of self-imposed silence, are preparing for a new offensive against their enemies, Nappello, and those who have attempted to occupy their squares in recent months.
"The images taken by the Carabinieri of Naples during a raid in the Miano neighborhood show the disturbing detail of a road sign personalized by the clans bearing the words 'Ztl Lo Russo', the name of the dominant clan in the area. It is clear to everyone that the Camorra's control over the territory has exceeded the warning levels. This is what regional councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli of the Greens said. "Between sentries, illegal parking attendants, 'stese' and now also the signs - he explains - organized crime is becoming increasingly brazen and seems to have taken over several areas of the neighborhoods, not only on the outskirts, but also in the historic center. As demonstrated by the images of the illegal parking attendants who on Friday evening operated undisturbed in the pedestrian area of Piazza Trieste e Trento in front of the military. A strong response from the State is needed to restore legality in the streets of our city and to send the signal that in the fight against crime there is no stepping back".
