“Eav has acted in full compliance with the rules” but “considering the particular and serious situation in question, if the pensioner were to ask Eav or his former colleagues for a gesture of solidarity, as always, Eav will do everything possible”. This is underlined in a note by the Ente Autonomo Volturno, the transport holding company of the Campania Region, in relation to the case of former employee Ciro Marra, who after retiring due to a serious neoplasm, realized that his severance pay had been tied up by the Revenue Agency. “The employee – explains Eav – joined the facilitated exodus by resigning on April 30th. The amount due for incentives and TFR was calculated with the May pay slip. The Revenue Agency has set up an electronic channel for checks, to which we submit all payments (including pay slips) exceeding 5.000 euros. The law in force provides that public administrations and companies with a majority public participation, before making, for any reason, the payment of an amount greater than five thousand euros, verify, also electronically, whether the beneficiary is in default of the payment obligation deriving from the notification of one or more payment notices for a total amount at least equal to said amount and, if so, do not proceed with the payment, reporting the circumstance to the collection agent competent for the territory for the purposes of exercising the activity of collection of the sums registered in the role". "The employee - underlines the Eav - had a payment block as a result of this procedure; with a subsequent partial release, a small part of the sum due was regularly credited to the pensioner".
