Naples. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the fire that, late yesterday evening, destroyed part of the top floor of Palazzo Maddaloni Carafa, one of Naples' most important historic buildings. The firefighters, who arrived in force, worked for over two hours to extinguish the fire, and fortunately there were no injuries. The results of inspections by municipal and Civil Protection technicians are now awaited to determine whether there was damage to the load-bearing structures and therefore any structural issues with the building.
The fire, probably accidental, broke out around 22.30:XNUMX p.m. The flames, which probably originated inside an apartment on the top floor, burned for several minutes, becoming visible from the outside only when much of the room was already destroyed.
