Naples, 'Safe Stations' operation: about a thousand people checked by the Polfer

The Railway Police Department for Campania, implementing a device arranged by the Railway Police Service on a national scale (so-called SAFE STATIONS), yesterday carried out extraordinary checks in the railway sector on suspicious persons, street vendors, passengers and luggage, in all stations in Campania.
At Naples Central Station, these services were carried out with the help of the men of the Naples Police Headquarters: Canine Unit and Emergency Operations Unit (Uopi) and the military involved in the “Safe Roads” operation and with the help of tendiflex and the new Polfer desks, thanks to which all the people passed under the watchful eye of the police, who also checked suspicious luggage through the use of the metal detectors provided.
Similar control methods were set up at the stations of Salerno, Caserta and Aversa where the patrols, positioned at the access points to the station, with the aid of tendiflex, were able to visually check all the people entering and their luggage.

In particular, at the Naples Central Station, the agents subjected SC, a thirty-nine-year-old Senegalese, to a check, who was carrying a very bulky bag; found in possession of counterfeit leather goods, he was reported at liberty for the crime of receiving stolen goods. A large quantity of items bearing counterfeit brands of famous manufacturing houses such as Chanel, Prada, Gucci and Liu Jo were seized.
Also during the aforementioned extraordinary checks at Naples Central Station, BB, a 26-year-old Algerian, illegally residing on the national territory, was checked and reported, and two Bulgarians, DK, 33, and DV, 37, were reported at large. In an attempt to evade the checks, they were responsible for insulting a public official by uttering offensive phrases towards the military personnel of the “Safe Roads” operation.
The adoption of the tendiflex control device has had the desired effects also in the other stations in Campania. In the face of an improvement in prevention, with a significant increase in the controls carried out, positive results have also been recorded in terms of crime repression. Two women have been reported in the province of Caserta: in the capital, VM, aged 38, was reported in a state of freedom to the Judicial Authority because she failed to comply with a ban on returning to the Municipality of Caserta; in the Aversa CC Station, aged 35, she was reported for a mandatory expulsion order and for interruption of public service.
