Naples. Carabinieri found and seized two semi-automatic pistols last night in the Fuorigrotta neighborhood of Naples. They were a 7,65mm pistol with 33 rounds of ammunition and a 9mm pistol with 50 rounds of ammunition. They were found in a backpack hastily dropped into the basement of an 82-year-old woman on Via Tullio Porcelli through a barred window overlooking a condominium area. The elderly woman, who saw the unfamiliar backpack in her basement, immediately called 112.
The first weapon was never registered; the second was registered in the name of a deceased gentleman in 1929, but his family members were unaware of the (legal) possession of the weapon. While investigations continue to identify who got rid of the weapons, they will be sent to the RACIS in Rome to verify their possible use in bloody acts and/or intimidation.
