The summer tour of the “NapoliMandolinOrchestra” is underway, the leading instrumental formation of the Accademia Mandolinistica Napoletana, an association that has been promoting the mandolin in Naples and around the world since 1929, currently under the presidency of Mauro Squillante and the artistic direction of Leonardo Massa. This time the napoliMandolinOrchestra will bring to Japan the typically Neapolitan sounds of string instruments such as the mandolin, mandola, mandoloncello, guitar and double bass.
There will be plenty of space for traditional Neapolitan music, but not only, in the repertoire that will be offered in a series of concerts that will open on Tuesday 3 July in Naples at the Decumani Hotel De Charme at 20:30 pm, organized by the company X Eventi & Communication (Entrance by reservation – for info xeventisrl@gmail.com – 3921225578).
Then, on Thursday 6th July, transfer to Kōta City, a town in the Nukata district.
Conducting an ensemble of eleven musicians, Maestro Mauro Squillante, an internationally renowned musicologist and concert pianist, will also perform in the land of the Rising Sun music by Vivaldi, Calace, Rossini, Verdi, Bellini, along with unforgettable soundtracks from highly successful films.
The main theme of the performances, as the title “The Italian Four Seasons” suggests, will be the four seasons of the year retraced through a journey of musical research into Italian music.
The tour, organized by Harmony Fields, will then touch Hyogo, Shizuoka, Yonago and Hiroshima, ending with the last performance in Himeji scheduled for July 14.
