An exclusive tribute to the Beatles, in jazz and pop-rock style, begins in Naples: on the splendid panoramic terrace of the Hotel San Francesco al Monte, fifty years after the release of the legendary "White Album," the 45-piece Rhythm-Symphony Orchestra of the "Nicola Sala" Conservatory of Benevento, conducted by Maestro Gianluca Podio, will perform "The Beatles Forever" on Monday, July 2nd at 7:00 PM. The concert, an original project that will be premiered, will feature reinterpretations of some of the Liverpool quartet's most famous songs, such as "Ticket to Ride," "Let It Be," "Yesterday," and "Michelle." The concert, featuring original arrangements by Podio, former keyboardist and jazz pianist for Ennio Morricone and later alongside Pino Daniele (with whom he has worked since 1997, composing songs, creating arrangements, and accompanying him as pianist in concerts around the world), pays tribute to the "Fab Four" and the album that celebrates the Beatles' artistic freedom. After its debut in Naples, "The Beatles Forever" will be featured at some of Italy's leading festivals.
“It was the aesthetic of ‘White Album’ that inspired this concert,” explains Maestro Podio, “a broad, expansive, and heterogeneous musical vision in which different styles meet: jazz, rock, pop, and even classical styles, leaving room for the improvisations of internationally renowned soloists in a personal dimension in which each musician is independent and complementary to the harmony of the ensemble.”
The soloists Aldo Bassi on the trumpet, Ferruccio Corsi on the saxophone, Alessandro Crosta on the flute, Mimmo Langella on the electric guitar, Stefania Tallini on the piano, Sergio Di Natale on the drums, Enzo Autori on the electric bass and Vincenzo Di Gregorio on the acoustic guitar will take to the stage.
The sold-out concert, which attracted a large group of Neapolitan Beatles fans, will be an opportunity to visit and learn more about the works of art housed in the Hotel San Francesco al Monte, a 16th-century monastery, including the Chapel of San Giovanni Giuseppe della Croce, patron saint of Ischia, the Sala del Forno, and the frescoed Refectory.
