The Carabinieri of the Ottaviano Station during an operation to combat the phenomenon of car thefts arrested red-handed for laundering stolen cars the 36-year-old Salvatore Reale, a Neapolitan from the Miano district, and Luigi Liguori, 47, from Acerra.
The two, both with specific criminal records, were caught inside a garage in via Ammirati while they were busy dismantling the Fiat Punto stolen from a 2-year-old from Marcianise and in possession of mechanical and body parts of dubious origin, which were seized.
Reported at liberty for the same crime were two 49-year-olds, one from Acerra and the other from the area, caught driving 2 vans containing mechanical and body parts of likely illicit origin. Finally, a report was also made for a 51-year-old woman from via Ammirati, owner of the garage where Reale and Liguori were dismantling the stolen vehicle. The arrested were placed under house arrest.
