The historic headquarters of the Pomigliano left, the Casa del Popolo, has been put up for auction by the Nola court, and the most likely scenario is that it will be converted into a pub. Bankruptcy Judge Lorella Triglione has scheduled the sale of the property on Via Cavallotti for October 16th: two ground-floor spaces in the historic center, totaling approximately two hundred square meters. The starting price is €165,000, but the minimum bid is €125,000.
The Casa del Popolo in Pomigliano is located in the middle of the nightlife of Pomigliano, so there are those, like an entrepreneur who intends to remain anonymous, who would like to transform the historic headquarters of the Italian Communist Party into a pub. The nearby Casa del Popolo in Acerra has already been put up for auction, now it's the turn of the one in Pomigliano. Unicredit, San Paolo, Rrhe Medior Banca are the institutions that have seized the property.
But Michele Caiazzo, former mayor of Pomigliano Pds-Ds from '95 to 2005 and former regional councilor from 2005 to 2010, does not give up: "The last word has not been said", he comments. Together with other companions, Michele Caiazzo manages the structure through the political cultural association "La Casa del Popolo" and continues: "We will do everything to not lose the Casa del Popolo, in the meantime there is a rental contract". The rental contract was stipulated by the association on July 2016, XNUMX with the Chiaromonte foundation, but the sale to a private individual by the court could lead to substantial changes.
