Castellammare. The three-year orchestra of the “Francesco Severi” music high school in Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) takes first place in Campania, winning the title at the “Young Promises of Bracigliano” competition. The students of the school principal Donatella Solidone collect yet another success this concert year. The winning path of the 65 elements, directed by the maestro and arranger Alfredo Intagliato, continues. For the judging commission, the musical formation of the Severi is the “best high school orchestra in Campania”. The young talents already boast a very respectable palmares after the podium achieved at the competitions of Polignano a Mare and Florence in addition to the first overall prize at the “Bellini competition” of Boscoreale and the participation in the “San Carlo” Award for the best soundtracks of the 900th century. In the grand soirée, professors Sebastiano Martone on trombone, Francesco Greco on sax, Giovanni Sanarico on cello, Francesco Scelzo on guitar and Fiammetta Drammatico on violin played with the students. The show, introduced by violin soloists Luca Maresca and Chiara Rollini, moved to the rhythm of the soundtracks of great films including Playing love, Rocky, The Magnificent Seven, Palladio and the Last of the Mohicans. The next appointment is at the Reggia di Portici where all the musical high schools of the metropolitan city of Naples will perform. Alfredo Intagliato says he is satisfied with the result: "Proud of these young students. Keep going like this". (vb)
