Scafati. Reuniting after 60 years, when, having put aside their shorts, pen, and inkwell, each one went on with their lives: this was what the students of teacher Francesco Pentone, those graduating from elementary school in the 1962-11963 school year, did last night at a restaurant in Angri. Some, over these sixty years, have never lost touch, have lived in the same city, and have seen each other often throughout their lives. Others lived far away, and in meeting again, they relived those moments of youth and adolescence that shaped their lives as men today. Workers, doctors, lawyers, professionals, and businessmen, their lives intersected at the desks, first in elementary school and then in middle school in the 60s. A reunion, a toast to the old days, strongly desired by Martino Fortunato, a former Alcatel worker from Scafati, who managed, after months, to take roll call, just as their teacher did, and to gather the students of his class around a table, remembering those who are no longer with us, the anecdotes of those years, and the course of life. Nostalgia, but also fun and the pleasure of seeing each other again with white hair or a bald head, but with the same unchanged gaze. Times gone by, full of carefree fun and mischief, but also of the life education that has accompanied them over the years. Maestro Pentone's students remembered those years, along with their teacher's children, classmates and friends in life. And then the transition to middle school when everyone was starting to go their own way. An all-male class, as it was back then, wanted to come together to remember the times that were and will be!
