“The episode of violence against migrants that occurred in Caserta is serious and worrying because it is indicative of the climate of intolerance and discrimination that is spreading in our country, a heavy climate unfortunately fueled by the very person who should guarantee the safety of citizens and social peace, namely the Minister of the Interior”. This is what the Democratic Party senator Franco Mirabelli, vice president of the group, said. “The Sprar of Caserta – continues Mirabelli – is one of the largest in Italy and it hosts more than 200 young people, engaged by the Municipality in activities of public interest and in qualified daily projects. It is a situation of integration, in which there is no social tension. The fact that the episode reported by the media occurred precisely in a calm context, regardless of whether or not there was the cry that is reported, really makes one think”.
