After the meetings dedicated to the mafia with Franco Roberti and corruption with Raffaele Cantone, the series of meetings “Match Point” focuses on the dangerous connections between mafias and corruption in its “Dialogues on Justice”. Thursday 21 June at 21 pm at Clubino, the Neapolitan cultural club in via Luca Giordano, the “Match Point” on “Mafias and Corruption” will start from the reflections of the book “Mafias and freelance professions. How to recognize and contrast the gray area” published by Donzelli in the series on “Mafias and corruption” and which has just arrived in bookstores in recent days.
This is an essay of great scientific rigor written by Professor Stefano D'Alfonso, coordinator of the Research Laboratory on mafias and corruption at the University of Naples Federico II, by the magistrate Aldo De Chiara, former deputy attorney general at the Court of Appeal of Salerno and consultant to the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission and by the Rector of the University Federico II, Gaetano Manfredi, president of the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities, with the aim of investigating the complex relationship between mafia areas and the liberal professions, which often give rise to a set of viscous and collusive behaviors, now densely ascertained in investigative and judicial offices. Because as explained in the volume "there are numerous areas in which the mafias, for the development of their criminal activity, need specific technical-professional skills: just think of money laundering, the drafting of expert reports, contracts, participation in public tenders". The authors of the volume in the “Match Point” of the Clubino, organized in collaboration with the association “Astrea. Sentimenti di Giustizia” and coordinated by the journalist Roberto Conte, will meet with the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Naples, Giovanni Melillo, the journalist Gino Giaculli, with the writer Bernardina Moriconi and with the magistrate Alfredo Guardiano, advisor to the Supreme Court of Cassation.
Also this year the characterizing element of the Match Point review, coordinated by the journalist Roberto Conte, is the original dialogic formula in which the debate sees as protagonist above all the public engaged in a virtual match of ideas with the guests of the evening. A very interesting debate in this case because as emerges from the volume at the center of the evening "in the current historical phase, which has also seen an extraordinary commitment in the fight against the mafia, that of the relationship between mafia, corruption and liberal professions is a plot that has not yet found an adequate response" so much so that the authors hope for the solution of this emergency the birth of an adequate training path, starting from the Universities, and also of a specific legislative intervention.
The consolidated formula of the evening comparisons of Match Point is the opening dedicated to taste that highlights the best food and wine excellences of Campania. For the arrival of summer “Match Point” will entrust the corner of taste to the “Ristorante Al Camino” of Pollena Trocchia that will propose with the direction of the chef Luigi Romano a suggestive combination of flavors of land and sea and the sweet closing entrusted to the artisanal ice creams that become cakes made by the Master pastry chef Maddalena Romano.
