Who wants to discover the beauties of Mykonos, a tourist destination in Greece that has become a must for the holidays of a large number of Italians, can choose to rent a gulet to become the protagonist, alone or in the company of loved ones, of a truly special and unforgettable experience. Together with Ibiza, Mykonos is in all likelihood one of the European locations of reference for nightlife, nightlife and the sea, available to young and old. The pearl of the Cyclades offers all the splendor of the Mediterranean Sea, and on board a gulet you have the opportunity to experience a holiday of one or more weeks destined to remain etched in your heart and mind.

Yet Mykonos is a fairly small town: without tourists it does not exceed 10 thousand inhabitants, and it extends over an area of 86 square kilometers. Despite its small size, however, it offers everything you need on holiday. The photos on social networks and television programmes do not do justice to a beauty that can only be appreciated in 360 degrees live: the sea with its crystalline waters, the white sand of the beaches, the culture and the fun. It is certainly very difficult to get bored in Mykonos.

If you are planning to spend some fantastic sailing holidays in Greece, the gulet is the most appropriate solution, also because it allows you to keep away from the noise, from the confusion, the crowds and all the other drawbacks of mass tourism. Goodbye to queues and noise: instead, make room for the beauty and tranquility that are guaranteed by the possibility of arriving in all those beaches, in all those coves and in all those corners that would be rather difficult to reach by land.

A holiday different from the usual

Although Mykonos could be considered an overused destination, what matters is not where you go, but how you go. The island also offers a wide variety of monuments and buildings of considerable architectural and cultural value: this is the case of the Lena's House, a house of a merchant's daughter that allows you to take a metaphorical journey back in time, or Aegean Naval Museum, which houses a large number of models, reconstructions and historical finds that allow us to understand navigation from a few centuries ago.

After stopping at the Church of Paraportiani, it is worth stopping at the Alefkantra neighborhood, which is also dotted with religious buildings. But not only that: nearby you can admire the island's famous windmills, and not far away are the houses on the water's edge in the area called – and it is not difficult to understand why – Little VeniceIn short, you are in Greece, but by travelling a few kilometres it is as if you were travelling throughout Europe.

How to travel by sailing boat

If you want to experience the emotions of sailing in Mykonos, you can decide to resort to one skipper, a valid alternative to bareboat rental which, obviously, is the exclusive prerogative of those in possession of a boating license. On board the gulet, you have the opportunity to stop near the beaches of Kalafatis, Houlakia, Psarou, Panormos, Ftelia or Agio Ioannis, but also on the sand of Agrari or in the bay of Agia Anna. The peculiar characteristic of these beaches is that they are all different from each other. For those who do not want to give up the nightlife, however, there are always the beaches of Paradise Beach and Super paradise beach, with spots where you can also practice nudism and nightlife that has nothing to envy of that of Formentera.
