Five stops before the tour concludes in Naples on June 27th at Scugnizzo Liberato (Salita Pontecorvo, 6 – Naples). This Roman noise trio, composed of Jacopo Battaglia (drums), Luca T Mai (baritone saxophone), and Massimo Pupillo (electric bass), is back in the spotlight with their sensational reunion for the vinyl reissue of their album "How to Raise an Ox," originally released on CD in 2005 on the Atavistic label and now reissued on LP by Trost Record.
The occasion is a unique event included in the “DiRotta su NaDir” review born from the collaboration between the NaDir Collective and L'Asilo Filangieri.
ZU will conclude their tour in Naples with a special event. The three founders of the Roman band – therefore with the return of Jacopo Battaglia behind the drums – will find themselves alone on stage again after Battaglia's experience in The Bloody Beetroots. ZU's Neapolitan live will be made even more special because it will be enriched by the performance of OEOAS, or the Orchestra Elettroacustica Officina Arti Soniche, which boasts an expanded lineup with more than 50 performers who will perform in multiple sessions distributed across the three levels of the building hosting the concert. The finale will be in the courtyard of Scugnizzo Liberato where Maestro Naddei will gather and direct the musicians of the orchestra for a single suite.
The OEOAS (orchestra dell'officina arti soniche) was born within the electronic music class of the Conservatory of Naples, but in a short time musicians from other classes of the conservatory and also from outside this institution have transformed it into a sort of "open structure", multi-identity. The beating heart of this orchestra is the "OEOAS conduction". This practice has two fundamental purposes: to stimulate collective extemporaneous musical creativity and to encourage, in the figure of the conductor, the art of "maieutics".
The orchestra has members throughout Italy, is based in Naples and can already boast direction by Elio Martusciello, Carl Hubsch and Alvin Curran, with the latter there was an epic participation of 110 musicians on a graphic score and signals written by Curran for the occasion.
