Massimo De Rosa is a doctor who lives in the center of Angri. For about ten years, he has been battling ALS, the "bitch" that confines him to bed, to a different life, to an ordeal faced with great dignity. For a few weeks, he has been left "family-wise" alone. His elderly mother, who fought hard against various ailments, has passed away. Massimo is now cared for by caregivers and nurses, in all-day shifts. He has friends, old schoolmates and others, who try to support him as best they can. But he needs more help. That of the institutions, from the mayor to those with local jurisdiction for healthcare and bureaucratic matters. Massimo is not tired of fighting. But alone, it becomes damned difficult, almost impossible. ALS leaves no escape. So far, Massimo has at least managed to stave it off somewhat, staying alive and somehow managing to communicate with the world. Now that his mother is no longer with us, we all have a duty to help him further, to help him as he deserves. Borgonovo wasn't the only case; there are many other cases hidden simply because they don't make the headlines. Massimo's is one of these cases; it's a local case; he shouldn't be overlooked or even downplayed in the local news.
