Red shirts have surged in support of the initiative launched by Libera president Don Luigi Ciotti, along with Legambiente, Arci, and ANPI, to stem the loss of humanity. "A country awash with red shirts, from the 2000-meter Gran Paradiso refuge to the island of Lampedusa, from Libera's training camps on confiscated assets to Legambiente's Goletta Verde sailing toward Campania. Libera reports that countless people have joined and responded to the initiative, which invited everyone to wear a red shirt today to remember the many migrant children who have died at sea and, more generally, those who have lost their lives on sea crossings."
“The hashtag of the day is among the top of the Twitter rankings. The colonnade of Piazza del Plebiscito and the Maschio Angioino in Naples are lit up in red, the Gran Paradiso refuge is also in red,” Libera reports. In red are Fiorella Mannoia, Vasco Rossi, Roberto Saviano, Carlo Lucarelli, Rosy Bindi, the doctor from Lampedusa. “Thousands of citizens, associations, clubs, parishes who have been posting their red t-shirts and a no to indifference since the early hours of the morning. Luigi Ciotti, promoter of the initiative in a red t-shirt, participated in the initiative in Rome in the San Lorenzo neighborhood,” Libera explains.
