A journey, that of Goletta Verde will end on August 13 in Trieste, after 22 stops, and which this year will have among its priorities that of affirming the central role of the Mediterranean in the policies of reception and integration, so that it can recover its role as a hinge between cultures and worlds that cooperate. A tour – also made possible thanks to the support of Conou, National Consortium for the management, collection and treatment of used mineral oils, and of the partners Novamont and Ricrea, National Consortium for the recycling and recovery of steel packaging (La Nuova Ecologia and rinnovabile.it are instead media partners) – which also this year has the objective of denouncing the threats to the Italian seas and coasts, unfortunately well known for some time, starting from the poor purification that in Italy continues to be an unresolved emergency.
This year – among the many activities – Goletta Verde has set up a project called 'Pelagos Plastic Free', in partnership with the French association Expédition Med. The goal is to prevent and reduce plastic waste in the Pelagos Sanctuary, through governance activities, scientific monitoring and awareness raising with the involvement of coastal authorities, protected areas, fishermen, universities, research institutes, schools, tourists, diving and volunteers. Hence the invitation from Alfredo Napoli, secretary of Legambiente Campania Onlus, addressed to the Administrations of the Cilento Coast: «I kindly ask you to seriously commit to becoming the first 'plastic free' district in Italy». Invitation accepted by the Mayor of Camerota, Mario Salvatore Scarpitta; by the Councilor for the Port and the MPA of the Municipality of Camerota, Teresa Esposito; by the Delegate for Commerce of Camerota, Giuseppina Cammarano; by the Delegate for the Environment of the Municipality of Pisciotta, Margherita Cammarano; and by the Administration of Centola Palinuro.

The Goletta Verde crew delivered the 5 Vele to Costa del Mito and all together toasted at the tourist office 'La Perla del Cilento' renewing the meeting until next year.
