“The seven hundred stray dogs hosted at the 'Santa Lucia' kennel are at risk of dying of hunger due to the failure of the administrations of Sessa Aurunca, Carinola and Cellole to pay their bills”. This was reported by Emanuela Bignami, national head of stray dogs for Animalisti Italiani onlus. “The situation that the 'Santa Lucia' dog center is experiencing is dramatic,” she continued. “They no longer have financial resources. The municipalities owe the manager over 750 thousand euros for the stray dog custody and care service. We are talking about an excellent facility, considered one of the best in Campania, where four workers have been working without a salary for several months. From August XNUMXst, the feed supplier will stop providing the service. By failing to comply with payment procedures, the local authorities are effectively condemning innocent souls to death. The owner of the kennel, out of desperation, turned to the Prefect of Caserta who dismissed him with a 'it is not the responsibility of the Government office', and yet the mayors are responsible for the animals kept there”. Bignami adds: “out of solidarity with the Santa Lucia Center, for the commitment and dedication they are facing in this difficult situation, Animalisti Italiani onlus will take care of feeding these dogs in danger of life as much as it is possible within its economic resources, and will help to spread donations in favor of the aforementioned Center”.
