Caserta, over seven quintals of contraband cigarettes seized

Another large seizure of contraband cigarettes carried out by the financial police of the Guardia di Finanza Company of Capua against the suppliers of retailers operating in the Capua area. For some months now, the operational attention of the Capua yellow flames has been focused on identifying the supply channels of contraband cigarettes that are then sold in the area. Only two weeks ago, three smugglers were intercepted who were bringing cigarettes from Crispano and Caivano. On that occasion, their homes were searched
and the vehicles at their disposal with the seizure of over 60 boxes of goods (over 30.000
packages). Yesterday, another suspicious van was followed. Intercepted by the military, the smuggler was then followed to Casapesenna, his municipality of residence, where the vehicle entered a private garage. A search of the premises was then launched, where 74 cases of cigarettes were found hidden (for a total of 37.000 packages) that were found to be without the State Monopoly mark.
A small part of the quantity of tobacco was found inside the van inspected, while the remaining and larger quantity was found in boxes neatly stacked and packed in the garage and ready for delivery. Therefore, the military proceeded to seize the entire load and the van used for the
illicit transportation of blondes, arresting - by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North - MF, a forty-four year old Neapolitan resident in Asapesenna, for violation of art. 291-bis of Presidential Decree 43/73. The daily activity of general prevention and economic control of the territory by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Caserta continues, with particular reference to the fight against cigarette smuggling and the disarticulation of the supply network of the goods for subsequent sale on the street.
