Castellammare di Stabia. Nicola De Martino, 36, of Via Napoli, has died. He was involved in last night's tragic accident, which occurred shortly before 11:00 PM on Via Acton near the Castellammare-Terme Circumvesuviana station. The 36-year-old's condition immediately appeared very serious to emergency responders arriving on the scene. He was first taken to the San Leonardo Hospital in Castellammare and then transferred to the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples around 4:00 AM this morning. His condition was critical, with internal bleeding and a head injury. De Martino's heart stopped beating shortly after 12:00 PM. His girlfriend, Mina, remains hospitalized at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples. The other woman, in a coma, remains at the San Leonardo Hospital and is currently in intensive care. The other young man, whose condition appears to be better, remains at the Boscotrecase Hospital. In the accident, the two motorcycles, traveling in opposite directions, collided head-on on the curve on Via Acton. One of the two riders must have misjudged the trajectory and found himself directly in front of the other motorcycle. The collision was inevitable. Police are on the scene to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
