Naples. Cigarette smuggling, 60 kilos of tle seized and two people arrested. Yesterday afternoon at the San Carlo Arena Police Station, Gaetano Bellissimo and Mariano Grossi were arrested, both Neapolitans and with previous convictions, respectively 24 and 39 years old for smuggling of foreign manufactured tobacco not cleared through customs. The police officers, during their territorial control activity, noticed in via Tenore at the height of the road intersection with via Antonio De Curtis, a Honda scooter model sky, which was traveling at high speed acting as a relay for a Fiat Panda van model. The drivers of the 2 vehicles, at the sight of the police, attempted to enter via De Curtis to avoid a probable police check. The police officers, suspicious of their behavior and sustained speed, decided to stop them, and following the check they found and seized inside the Panda 10 cardboard boxes with 300 cartons of Winston Blue, Winston Rosse and Rothmans cigarettes, for a total weight of 60 kilos. The officers seized the cell phones used by the 24-year-old and the 39-year-old to stay in close contact with each other to evade police checks. Bellissimo and Grosso were transferred to house arrest at their respective homes, awaiting the summary trial scheduled for this morning.
