Ferrari is celebrating, not only surviving what was considered a tough circuit, Silverstone, but also increasing its lead in the standings: Vettel triumphs, Hamilton second, and Raikkonen third on the podium. A thrilling Grand Prix was needed to close out a trio of consecutive races. At Silverstone, the initial one-two could have knocked Lewis Hamilton out of the race. First, he made a poor start and was passed by Vettel, and then Raikkonen hit him at the first corner. The Finn's left rear tire collided with the Brit's right rear tire, which went off the track, and he finished eighteenth: last. It's not a fifth consecutive win, it's not a record for the reigning world champion. The Silverstone heat seems to be making Vettel's Ferrari shine even brighter, as he's as bright as the sun and happy about the setback of his world title rival.
