“Yet another episode of arbitrary closure of a street to celebrate, this time, a wedding. It happened in via Pallonetto in Santa Lucia which, for the occasion, was decked out in a festive way with a Hollywood catwalk for the bride and her guests, a neomelodic singer and tables for the buffet. For an entire morning the street, which is not normally pedestrianized, was closed to traffic to allow the entire neighborhood to participate in the happy event. Obviously, not even a shadow of authorizations”. This is what the regional Green councilor Francesco Borrelli and the Sole che Ride city councilor Marco Gaudini denounce. “It has now become standard practice in the city – Borrelli emphasizes – to close streets to celebrate parties and anniversaries. A short time ago, a similar episode was recorded near Piazza Mercato. As was done on that occasion, today too we have asked for the intervention of the Municipal Police to reopen the street and identify the organizers. Finally, it is worrying that no one dared to rebel or even anonymously report what was happening at Pallonetto. A disturbing sign of military control of the territory by those who think they can manage the public road as a personal asset”.
